Most of the accommodation is tented with ensuites, although there are a few rondavels. There is a large swimming pool and a paddling pool for children. Go for a late afternoon game drive and return to the lodge for dinner. On the following day, enjoy a full day’s game drive with a picnic lunch or have a morning and evening game drive with lunch at the lodge. Enjoy sundowners on the verandah, before dinner.

The park is renowned for its elephants, tree-climbing lions and over 400 species of birds. At the end of your game drive you will drive up the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley until you reach Kirurumu Tented Camp, which is a small tented camp-site with comfortable tents in a bush setting. The camp is perched on the edge of the Great rift Valley with glorious views of Lake Manyara, the Rift floor and Mount Losimingori. Overnight at the lodge.

Descend ino the Crater floor – if it is the dry season, the floor will be dry and dusty, if the wet season, the lake may be full of flamingoes and the Crater floor covered in flowers. With the high density of animals in an area of 260 square kilometres, the game viewing opportunities are extraordinary with a good chance of seeing lion, elephant, buffalso, zebra, hipp and numerous antelope species. Serengeti Serena Lodge

This is a longer than average day of vehicle travel between destinations, and you will have a picnic lunch on the way. You will leave the Ngorongoro Conservation area via the Crater rim en route to the Serengeti National Park. A popular break along this rout is Olduvai Gorge, referred to as the Cradle of Mankind, where there is a small museum. After the gorge, you will enter the Serengeti Plains. The Masaai in their traditional vermillion colored blankets, tending their cattle, make a dramatic sight against the vast landscape. Once you are in the Serengeti the game viewing opportunities are exceptional. The Serengeti National Park is a world heritage site, covering a vast 14,800 sq km. This migration of two million herbivores takes place predominantly in the Serengeti, meaning, “the place where the land runs on forever.” Depending on the time of the year, the migration may be nearby or within reasonable distance. At the end of your drive the swimming pool at the lodge is a welcome sight. On the following day, enjoy as much or as little game viewing as you please. Spend two nights at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
