Rufiji River Camp, Selous Game Reserve
Fly from Dar-es-Salaam to Selous Game Reserve, where you will spend two nights at Rufiji River Camp. The 14 tent camp is very pleasantly located on the banks of the river, where you will be able to participate in boating safaris, the Selous being the only game area in Tanzania, where this activity is available. Enjoy game viewing by vehicle and on foot. The camp has a much needed swimming pool for the heat of the day.
Stanley’s Kopje, Mkumi National Park
Fly to Mkumi National Park, the third largest park in the country, where you will spend two nights at Stanley’s Kopje, a small camp set on a rocky kopje overlooking the Mwanamboga waterhole. The camp has 360 degree views from the restaurant and bar, while the tents are spread around the base of the hill with expansive vistas. Enjoy game drives in the morning and afternoon, with time to cool down in the middle of the day in the swimming pool.
Lazy Lagoon, Swahili Coast
After breakfast, fly to Dar-es-Salaam and then transfer 70km north by road to Bagamayo, from where you will take a boat transfer to Lazy Lagoon Island, 2km off the shore. A coral reef surrounds the island and snorkelling can be done from the beach. Accommodation is in 12 large airy makuti beach bandas only yards from the sea. Swimming in the sea is possible with all tides, but there is also a swimming pool. Enjoy kayaking in the safety of the lagoon.
Transfer back to Dar-es-Salaam, for your onward arrangements.
