Note – This itinerary gives you the choice between two nights at Ruckomechi in Mana Pools National Park (closed from November to March) or two nights at Little Makolo in Hwange National Park. (Alternatively, ask us to give you an itinerary that includes both of these camps).
Operates – Option 1: all year round if one substitutes Ruckomechi (days 3 to 5) for Little Makolo in Hwange National Park.
Option 2: 1 May to 31 October if one chooses Ruckomechi
Victoria Falls Hotel, Zimbabwe
You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport and transferred to the Victoria Falls, Hotel. This beautiful gracious old lady has been there since 1904, overlooking the Victoria Falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World. The Victoria Falls, is considered the largest in the world, based on its width and height, resulting in the largest sheet of falling water. Soak up the atmosphere, take a stroll to the Falls, sip a gin and tonic on the colonial verandah or participate is some serious adrenalin junkie activities, such as bungee jumping, white water rafting, micro-lighting over the Falls,(additional cost) to name a few. Spend two nights at the Victoria Falls Hotel.
Choose two nights at this camp or Little Makalolo, but please note that this camp is only open from the 1st May to the 31st October.
On Day 3, transfer to the airport for you flight to Ruckomechi in Mana Pools National Park, situated in the heart of the Zambezi Valley. You will stay in a tented camp overlooking the river. Wildlife viewing is superb with large numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo and eland. Birdlife is abundant. Wildlife viewing takes place in open 4×4 vehicles, on motorised pontoon boats, on foot and in canoes.
Choose between two nights at Ruckomechi or this camp in Hwange National Park. Fly from Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park. You will be transferred to Little Makalolo Camp situated in the Makalolo Concession. The camp’s six rooms have indoor and outdoor showers and the living areas include a plunge pool. There is a log pile hide overlooking the waterhole in front of the camp. Activities include open 4 x 4 game drives and guided nature walks through the concession.
Transfer by air to Harare. From Harare, travel by road for approximately five hours to the south-east of Zimbabwe, to Pamushana Lodge. This exclusive hide-away, is situated in the 135,000 acre Malilangwe Reserve. The beautifully decorated suites with plunge pools overlook the valley below. There is a wide range of activities to choose from including game drives, guided walks, mountain bike riding, archery, tennis and swimming. There is also a gym and spa. Expect to see a great variety of wildlife including black and white rhino, Lichenstein hartebeest, cheetah, wild dog, lion, leopard and an abundance of bird life.
Transfer to Buffalo Range Airport for your outbound flight to Johannesburg (two flights per week). Alternatively transfer by road to Harare.
